Servings: Two (2) people
2 cups x Rice
2 cups x Water - for cooking rice
300 gms x Med. Prawns - peeled and de-veined
1 cup x Holy Basil - 'kha phrao Leaves'
1 tbsp x Light Soy Sauce
2 cloves x Garlic - pounded
5 x Chilies - pounded
1 tspn x Sugar
1 tbsp x Canola Oil
1 tbsp x Water
½ tbsp x Fish Sauce
Cook your Rice in your Rice Cooker.
Crush and pound the Chilies and Garlic into a pulp - in the 'Vessel with the Pestle'.
Fry off the paste in the Canola Oil, then add the Prawns. When cooked, add the Sugar, Soy Sauce, Fish Sauce and Water and bring to the heat again, stirring constantly. Then add the kha phrao leaves, heat quickly while stirring, then serve on, or with, your Rice.
